FIRST FIVE – This is a friendly reminder for you to take the first five minutes following the dismissal to great someone in the service that you don’t know and make them feel welcome.
GREAT VIGIL SERVICE – Please join us for the Great Vigil service on Holy Saturday (April 20) at the 1st Lutheran Church on 19th street. This is the first service of Easter. It begins in darkness outside and symbolizes the return of the light to the Church after the darkness of Good Friday. Fr. Paul will be preaching the Homily and Paul Miller (and another parishioner to be named later) will be reading.
PETERKIN FAMILY CAMP – This summer’s Peterkin Family Camp will be led by Fr. Paul and Fr. Josh. Families are encouraged to attend. The camp is the week of July7-July 13. See Fr. Paul for additional information
ECW MEETING – ECW and St. Anne’s will meet on April 23rd at 1:30 pm at the home of Lynn Fury-Prather.
REMINDER – The rubrics on page 407 of the BCP state “While the people are coming forward to receive Communion, the celebrant receives the Sacrament in both kinds.” Please come forward to receive communion while I am receiving and communing the others serving about the alter. Thank you, Fr. Paul.
MAUNDY THURSDAY VIGIL – The Great Vigil begins in Adams Chapel immediately following the Maundy Thursday service, and continues through noon on Friday. People are needed to Sit and pray, meditate, or read scripture or other spiritual literature. This represents the Apostles praying while Jesus prayed at Gethsemane. The reserve Sacrament represents Jesus. There is a sign-up sheet in Trinity Hall. You may choose as many hours as you wish.
ROOF REPLACEMENT – Replacement of the Rectory roof is scheduled to begin soon. If you are planning to be at the church, be mindful of construction materials, workers, and vehicles.
