DISCRETIONARY SUNDAY – Today is Discretionary Sunday. The loose offering in the collection plates goes to the Rector’s discretionary fund for expenses related to the exercise of ministry not otherwise provided in the church’s budget.
ST. ANNE’S – St. Anne’s Guild will meet on Tuesday, March 20 at 1:30 in Trinity Hall for a regular meeting and program. Lynn Fury-Prather will be the hostess. Please let Connie Warren or Sue Palmer know when they phone you if you will be able to attend. EASTER VIGIL SERVICE – This is the 3rd service in the Triduum consisting of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Easter Vigil. Last year we began a tradition of celebrating this service with several churches with the service being held at the 1st Lutheran Church on 19th street. We are not just attending their service but are co-participants. Lynn Fury-Prather with be a Lay Reader and I will lead a collect and assist with the distribution of communion. This service has been observed since the 4th century and is the first service of Easter. This is the service that officially lights the Paschal Candle. I hope many of you will join me for this service, March 31 at 7:00 pm. Fr. Paul+ WORK DAY – We are coordinating a work day for the Church for March 24 to perform some spring cleaning and spruce the church up for Easter. The Jr. Warden will help to coordinate some projects, but I am also asking the Altar Guild to help coordinate the work in the Church. In addition, we will also be making palm crosses in the conference room. Finally, the Rector (and anyone willing to help him) will provide lunch. I hope many of you will come and participate. Fr. Paul+ CLOTHES CLOSET – With spring just around the corner, the clothes closet is in need of warm weather clothing. Most of the clothing they have is winterwear and can’t be used for summer.
