PRAYER WARRIOR MINISTRY  – To kick off our new “Prayer Warrior” ministry we will be showing the movie “The War Room” on Sunday afternoon, May 19 at 3:30 pm in Trinity Hall. Fr. Paul will explain more about this ministry at the movie, but if you believe in the power of prayer, come and be a part of this new ministry.

ADULT EDUCATION AND BIBLE/BOOK STUDY – We will be starting a new study during Adult Education (9:15 am Sunday) and Tuesday Night (6:30 pm). It is a six-session study by Andy Stanley entitled “Irresistible”. When that study is complete it will be followed by a study by Adam Hamilton entitled “Christianity and World Religions.”

SUPPER CLUB – Supper Club for May 17th has been changed and will be held at Colombo’s at 6:00 instead of 6:30.

FIRST FIVE – This is a friendly reminder for you to take the first five minutes following the dismissal to greet someone in the service that you don’t know and make them feel welcome.

REMINDER – The rubrics on page 407 of the BCP state “While the people are coming forward to receive Communion, the celebrant receives the Sacrament in both kinds.” Please come forward to receive communion while I am receiving and communing the others serving about the altar. Thank you, Fr. Paul.

GRADUATE SUNDAY – We will be recognizing our graduates on Father’s Day (June 16). We will have a presentation for those graduates that are present at the service on that day. So, please let us know if you have a graduate in your family, from where they are graduating, and what their future plans are.

LISTENING MINDS, OPEN HEARTS RETREAT – The Diocesan Commission on Spirituality invites you to attend “Listening Hearts, Open Minds” May 10-11 at Bishop Hodges’ Retreat Center in Huttonsville. The retreat, led by Father Brian Shoda, will teach participants how to have deeper and more meaningful relationships with God and others. See Fr. Paul for additional information.

THE WAY OF LOVE – Bishop Michael Curry will be speaking at the WestBanco Arena in Wheeling on October 5. This is open to the public, but tickets will be needed. There will be a Liturgy and Coffee Hour at St. Matthews’ on October 6. Make your reservations for the event and hotel soon. Visit www.stmatts.com for additional information.
