Hicks 11:45 am: Coffee Hour ********************************************************************************************** DISCRETIONARY SUNDAY –    Today is Discretionary Sunday.  The loose offering given today goes into the Rector’s fund to assist the needy with items not otherwise covered by the budget FIRST SATURDAY BREAKFASTS – The First Saturday Breakfasts at the Redwood have been cancelled until further notice. WEDNESDAY IN LENT – Lenten dinners continue each Wednesday with Evening Prayer at 6:00 p.m., covered dish dinner at 6:30 p.m., and Lenten study at 7:00 p.m. Youth activities will also be available. If you need the nursery to be available contact the office so we can have someone available. FOOD FOR THE POOR – If anyone is interested in a trip to Haiti or Nicaragua to see what they do, talk to Fr. Paul. TRINITY MEN’S GROUP –    The Trinity Men’s group will begin meeting for breakfast at 9:00 a.m. in Trinity Hall on the second Saturday of each month.  However, in April, the men will meet on April 22.  In addition to breakfast and devotional time, the men are willing to work on small jobs around the church.  So if you see a repair or task that needs to be done, please place a note in the “Job Jar” located in the Memorial Library.  Please include your name in case we have additional questions. All men and boys of the church are invited. STATIONS OF THE CROSS – Every Friday in Lent at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner if you are interested. Please let Susie know about dinner by Thursday so we can get a count. MOVIE NIGHT – Movie night for March will be on the 19th and the movie will be God’s Not Dead.. ST. ANNE’S GUILD – St. Anne’s Guild will meet at the Church on Tuesday the 21st of March at 1:30 in the afternoon with Lynn Fury Prather as hostess. YOUTH MEETING –   At tonight’s 5:00 p.m. youth meeting, Linda Bennett will be here to measure the acolytes for new robes.

DOK QUIET DAY – The Daughters of the King from Good Shepherd will host a Quiet Day on Saturday, March 18th from 9- 12.  It will be followed by a box lunch from Honey Baked Ham – cost of the lunch is approximately $9.00.  The Rev. Gene Sheppard will be the leader.  Contact person is Linda Bennett.  Please let her know if you plan to attend or if you have any questions. FYNE JUNQUE SALE – The Fyne Junque Sale committee will meet Wednesday, March 15th at 1:30 p.m. at the church. HABITAT FOR HUMANITY – Habitat will be dedicating two new houses today at 2:30 p.m. The homes are located at 2404 7th Avenue and Thomas Street in Parkersburg. If you have never been to a house dedication, it is a very moving experience to see how proud and appreciative the families are of their new homes. ST. ANNE’S GUILD –  St. Anne’s Guild will meet at the Church on Tuesday the 21st of March at 1:30 in the afternoon with Lynn Fury Prather as hostess.

They will begin with Evening Prayer at 6:00p.m., followed by the dinner at 6:30p.m. At 7:00p.m., there will be a program presented by Becky Mathis-Stump. “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms” (I Peter 4:10, NIV) If you are interested in learning about your gift(s), identifying others who share your gift(s), and/or discussing how you can use your gift(s), please consider joining us during our upcoming Lenten dinners. You only need to bring an open mind, a pen/pencil, and your Bible! Youth activities will be available. Call the church if you will have nursery needs. YOUTH – The teens will begin meeting the first and third Sundays of each month at 5:00 p.m. We are looking for a leader for our pre-teen youth. DRUG AWARENESS SEMINAR – Christ United Methodist Church, 715 16th Street, Parkersburg, will sponsor a Christian-based Drug Awareness Seminar. Speakers will be Wood County Sheriff Steve Stephens, 911 Director Rick Woodyard and Larry Fought. The will have a display of drug paraphernalia, a Power Point presentation and will be available to answer your questions.

REMINDER – As a reminder from the January Times, before each service, we will light the candles about five minutes before the service starts. At the 10:30 service the organ prelude usually starts about that same time.  The lighting of the candles will be the signal for individual conversations to end and a period of silent reflection to begin. WORSHIP HELP IS NEEDED – We are looking for Lectors, Worship Assistants and Acolytes to assist with both services. If you feel called to one of these ministries please contact Fr. Paul. This is a great way to serve your church. MOVIE NIGHT SUGGESTIONS – We are looking for suggestions for our monthly movie nights. Family friendly movies, movies for kids, and especially faith based movies. Suggestions should be addressed to Tiffany Deem. PARENTS MEETING – Fr. Paul and Tiffany would like to meet with all parents, grandparents, or anyone else who knows a youth they would like to get more involved with the church. The meeting will be February 8, 2017 at 6:00 pm in Trinity. Instead of the ushers standing at the steps and shaking hands, they will walk up the aisle stopping at each row. That will be the signal for that row to stand and proceed to the Altar. Paul and Tiffany would like to meet with all parents, grandparents, or anyone else who knows a youth they would like to get more involved with the church. The meeting will be February 8, 2017 at 6:00 pm in Trinity. MEN’S BREAKFAST – The Trinity Men’s group will have a breakfast at the church, on January 21, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. All men and boys of the church are invited and encouraged to attend.  ADULT EDUCATION – The Adult education class has begun an Inquirers Class for anyone who wants to know more about the Episcopal Church, and what we believe. Even if you attended the Confirmation class last fall, you will likely enjoy the refresher at a much slower pace.  Please come and join us to learn more. Also, if you have an idea for a Lenten study please share those with Fr. Paul as soon as possible. JANUARY SUPPER CLUB will be on Friday, January 20th at the home of Julie and Tom Gyongyosi. Please mark your calendar, and give Julie a call to let her know you will attend, and what you will be bringing. FAMILY GAME DAY will be on Sunday, January 22nd, at 3:00 p.m., with dinner of chili and baked potato bar at 5:30 p.m. Bring a favorite game or just come and have fun. TIMES DEADLINE – The Times deadline is Friday, January 20th.  Please have anything you would like to have included in the February issue to Barbara Full by that date.  fullhouse@suddenlink.net OUTREACH ENVELOPES – The money from the outreach envelopes for January will be used to support Habitat for Humanity of the Mid-Ohio Valley. The money is used to build simple, decent and affordable housing for those who would not otherwise be able to afford a home.
