A Word from Your Priest-Jan.

Happy New Year! Now that the rest of the world has caught up with those of us that celebrate our new year on Advent 1.

To start our New Year of focusing on our Intentional Worship, I would like to remind everyone and ask your cooperation on an aspect of our worship. That is to respect the time just before the service begins as a silent time to prepare ourselves for worship. As you will recall we will light the candles for the service about five to ten minutes before the service starts. Also, at the 10:30 service the organ prelude usually starts about that same time. The lighting of the candles will be the signal for individual conversations to end and a period of silent prayer to begin. This also applies to the Wednesday service as well. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter as an important part of our worship.

Also, please make plans to attend our Annual Meeting on January 21, 2018 immediately following the 10:30 am service. We will present the 2018 budget and elect three new vestry members in addition to delegates and alternate delegates to the Diocesan Convention. The Vestry Nominees are Justin Warren, Bob Harris and Kim Couch. The delegate nominees are Joy Brownfield, Justin Warren, Becky Mathis Stump, and Susie Fitcher. The two delegates will be the two individuals that receive the most votes and the other two will serve as the alternates.

The meeting is also a great opportunity for you to hear and ask questions about the ministries of the church. I will also try to answer any questions you may have about what is going on at Trinity and what we might want to focus on in the New Year. I will be happy to answer any question you might have in regard to our focus on Intentional Worship for the coming year and watchfor more information in the Times.

We have a lot of exciting things happening. Please, come and be apart of what God is doing here at Trinity, and as always, bring a friend.

God bless you one and all,

Father Paul
