DISCRETIONARY SUNDAY – Today is Discretionary Sunday. The loose offering in the collection plates goes to the Rector’s discretionary fund.
DIRECTORY PICTURES – We are getting close to producing our in-house pictorial directory but we still need several family pictures. A draft of the directory is in the Memorial Library. If you have a picture you would like to use you may email it to Jim Full at news@trinity-church.org or you can drop off pictures to the office. We will also be taking pictures during coffee hour if that is more convenient. We want to get everyone’s picture so our directory will be complete.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL – Trinity will be participating in Vacation Bible School with First Lutheran Church and Good Shepherd. It will be held at First Lutheran starting on Wednesday June 28th and will continue each Wednesday in July (5, 12, 19, and 26). Dinner will be served at 5:30 pm and the program will conclude at approximately 7:30 pm. each night. There will be an adult component as well for parents or any other interested adult. Trinity will provide dinner on July 19th and we need a few volunteers to assist with the meal and other aspects of the VBS program. The adult forum will be guest speakers from other denominations to discuss their beliefs and how we can work together.
WINDOW DECALS – We have purchased static cling car window decals to be placed on your car. The decal has the name and address of our church as well as a prayer for safe travel of all who ride in the car. The cost is $2.50 and they can be obtained from Fr. Paul or Susie.
LEADERSHIP RETREAT – The Rev. Mary Pope is hosting a Leadership Retreat July 21-23 at Sandscrest in Wheeling. It starts at 6:00 p.m. on Friday and ends around noon on Sunday. Dr. Vicki Phillips and Deacon Al Prichard will lead a workshop on the relationship between the church and the world. Assistant Bishop Mark Van Koevering will be present to add to the discussion, and the Rev. Julie Harris will be on hand to clarify the Commission on Ministry and pre-ordination process. The cost is $50 per person, with checks payable to the Diocese of West Virginia. Lodging and meals are included in the registration fee.
