ANNE’S CHRISTMAS BRUNCH  – The annual St. Anne’s Christmas Brunch will be held Sunday, December 10 at 12:30 p.m. at the home of Paula Sellers in Belpre. STEWARDSHIP – While our stewardship efforts and our budgeting process are not one and the same, there’s no denying the fact that those two activities are connected. The pledge cards we receive serve as the foundation upon which we lay our budgeted expenses. By now, most of you have likely heard a voice message reminder about returning pledge cards, and you may have wondered if we are struggling to make ends meet for the 2018 budget. While we anticipate we will have to make a few adjustments to balance the budget, our reminder was simply motivated by a slower return rate on pledge cards than we typically experience. Our history with the Trinity family tells us that most, if not all, of us have already made commitments in our hearts about how we will use our time, talent, and treasure to advance God’s kingdom through Trinity in 2018. So, we ask you to consider taking a few minutes to complete a pledge card today or email your pledge to Paul Miller (pemiller53@gmail.com) before Tuesday at 9 a.m. so we can continue the budgeting process with our foundation secure. If you have any questions or comments about the process or this request, please let us know. Thank you, Becky Mathis-Stump (Stewardship Committee Co-Chair) and John Brownfield (Budget Committee Chair) ADULT EDUCATION – In Adult Education we are going to study a guide published by Forward Movement named “Instructions in the Life of Prayer.” It starts with individual preparation in prayer and then moves to corporate worship. The series begins December 10th.  UPCOMING EVENTS December 15 &16 – Christmas Giveaway December 18 – Finance and Vestry December 24 – Greening of the Church January 7 – Annual Meeting

To those who have thoughtfully and prayerfully prepared a pledge card for today’s Ingathering, thank you. To those who are still considering their pledge amount for 2018, we join you in praying for wisdom as you prepare to faithfully demonstrate God’s generosity. Together, we all serve as witnesses of God’s physical blessings to our world and we thank Him for that opportunity! TRINITY YOUTH –  Trinity youth will get together today after the 10:30 church service to fill baskets of food for needy families for Thanksgiving followed by a lesson on making cake doughnuts with Chuck Guyer. In those closing words, we discover a group of believers who not only came together to worship, but also experienced everyday life together. For those of us who have connected to Trinity, we know how important it is to have each other. Sadly, less than half of our friends and neighbors in Wood County regularly connect with a faith community. As we enter 2018, we plan to enhance our outreach efforts so we can help others find the strength we find in the Trinity family. Please consider committing your time, money, and prayers to this endeavor TRINITY YOUTH – Sunday, November 19th the Trinity youth will get together after the 10:30 church service to fill baskets of food for needy families for Thanksgiving followed by a lesson on making cake doughnuts with Chuck Guyer. During the course of a year, that’s 6,500 meals! And that’s just one of numerous ministries that directly support the physical needs of the men, women, and children in our community. Thank you for your generous contributions of time, money, and prayers to Trinity’s direct care ministries in 2017. As you consider the resource commitments you will make for 2018, please keep these important ministries in mind. HEALING – Trinity Church is blessed with two specific opportunities for prayers for healing.  Father Paul leads a Healing Eucharist Service on Wednesday at 12:15 PM in Trevor where participants can receive the laying on of hands and anointing with oil.  On Sunday mornings, prayers for healing are available in Trevor Chapel (located in the back of the church) offered by Dianna Quick or Margie Miller who believe they’ve been called to this ministry.  God still performs miracles, He still heals people, and there is nothing preventing God from healing one person through the ministry of another. The gifts of healing are primarily noted in 1 Corinthians Chapter 12. Divine healing may come through direct intervention by God in response to prayer or through His use of doctors and medication.  Jesus sent His disciples out to preach the gospel and gave them authority to heal the sick. (Luke 9:1,2).  So we invite all of you to take advantage of these opportunities. MEN’S SATURDAY BREAKFAST – Due to the book sale, the men’s breakfast in Trinity Hall will not be held. December 10 – St. Anne’s Christmas Brunch

A Word From Your Priest-Nov

So what do I mean by “Intentional Worship”? The simple answer is that I want all of us to focus on how we worship God. Everything from how we spend time working on our personal relationship with God through prayer and reading scripture, to how we worship God in Church on Sunday (and other times) as a community. Primarily it is about strengthening our relationship with God. God gives us everything we have and all He asks in return is that we love and worship Him with all our heart, soul, and mind and to love our neighbor as ourselves. The “Intentional” simply means “characterized by conscious design or purpose.” In other words, I want us to be focused on what we are doing and why we are doing it and not fall into the trap of just a habit that does not have a conscious focus. In regard to the community worship, we are going to include training for those of us that are involved in leading the worship service, but also for the whole congregation. For instance, the instructed Eucharist we did this past year was a great way to remind us about the significance of our worship service. Look for us to repeat this in the year to come as well. But first and foremost, I believe the process starts with each one of us and our relationship with God. This is accomplished through our own intentional time spent in prayer and scripture. As our relationship with God increases, we can’t help but be filled with the Holy Spirt when it come to our corporate worship. As I have said, this is different for each of us. But it is a journey we can make together and I will share with you more of my thoughts along the way, and I want to hear yours as well.I believe I have found a guide published by Forward Movement that can help us in our journey. It starts with individual preparation and then moves to corporate worship. The name of the publication is “Instructions in the Life of Prayer.” I am planning to hold an Adult Education series based upon this publication and disseminate the information as well. I am also planning to offer, starting in Advent, a prayer discipline known as the Divine Mercy Chaplet using prayer beads held in Adams Chapel on Wednesdays at 11:30 am. This would end in time to attend the mid-week healing Mass. Finally, I am looking at a way to use a group of “Prayer Warriors” to help support the spiritual life of the church. If you are interested in either of these ideas, please let me know. You can see we have a lot of exciting things happening. Please, come to worship and serve God and to be a part of what God is doing here at Trinity, and as always, bring a friend. God bless you one and all, Father Paul

At Trinity, we will begin two critical phases of stewardship in the upcoming weeks: one in which we as individuals and families consider how much of our monetary blessings we will pledge to Trinity for 2018, and another in which the Vestry will carefully plan how to use those pledged funds to sustain Trinity and fulfill its mission in the coming year. As we approach these phases of stewardship, we ask that you begin prayerfully considering your pledge and also that you pray for the Vestry to have wisdom in its budgeting process.  CHRISTMAS PRESENCE – At the annual book sale, St. Anne’s will be having the Christmas Presence tables to sell new and lightly used items to be sold as gifts as well as Christmas decorations and a bake sale. Please look for gift type items to donate as well as adding goodies to our bake sale. As we replenish daily, your donations may be dropped off either prior to our sale or anytime during the early part of that week. Please bring baked items packaged and priced to sell. Questions? Call Terry Shaw at 304-916-5281. REQUEST – The boiler that provides heat for the office building is no longer working and there is no heat in the building.
